Over the course of his lifetime, Speare wrote several short essays, such as “Who Swears and Why.” He also wrote various plays, including the 1903 play “Mystic Waters, or the Spirit of Winnipesaukee.” Several of Speare’s plays were musicals, such as “Mystic Waters.”
